Business Context

Within the UFS Benelux team we are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager who reports to the Finance Manager and has close contact with the Marketing & Sales teams. The role offers an attractive balance between strategic and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Together with the Finance Manager, you are responsible for the general financial administration and you provide support for the follow-up of the various marketing and sales budgets for the Unilever Food Solutions business. You do this together with the marketeers and the various account managers. You will also be responsible for the setup of profitability calculations for various customers, as well as the settlements of our entire tender business.

In short, we have a very extensive and varied range of tasks on offer for you!

Main Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with budget exercises for marketing and sales, analysis regarding profitability.

  • Administrative support for referencing new products and prices.

  • Monitoring sales performance and setting up actions with the sales team if necessary (FP&A).

  • Administrative & analytical support of the business operations team: follow-up on settlement of budgets and contractual agreements with both the wholesaler and end customers, credit notes and price claim management, promotional analyses. A close working relationship with the trade account managers is evident in this role.

  • Drawing up, sending & paying out all tenders (price quotes & public tenders) and you are the central point of contact for both internal and external contacts regarding this matter. You are the key user and manage the tender management tool (TMT) in all its facets. You will certainly be able to demonstrate your organizational qualities and determination, but your social and communication skills will also come into their own here. Calculating and paying out field payments and samples are also part of your core tasks.

  • In addition, you will do financial reporting every month end to ensure the correct numbers get reported to the global organization.

  • A core task is to clearly monitor overhead and Brand and Marketing investment expenditures and reporting to management thereof.

  • Forecasting will be a monthly responsibility to gather information from the Trade team, Supply Chain and through data from clients to submit to global.

Profile:

  • Degree in Finance, Management or a quantitative field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2-5 years’ experience in financial roles.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to work under pressure.

  • Able to interact and collaborate effectively in a wide network of stakeholders.

  • Clarity of thinking – ability to see the big picture, whilst interested to dive into details.

  • Strong engagement, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Interest in everything related to nutrition so that you can think along with Sales colleagues and their customers.

  • A positive and commercially minded force who can hold his/her own in a sales and marketing environment.

  • You are systematic & independent.

  • Team Player that can work cross-functional (both with marketing and sales-oriented roles).

  • You are meticulous and able to handle your administration punctually.

  • Knowledge of languages: Dutch and/or French + English.
