Staff Engineer/Geologist - Laramie, WY

This position will provide field and office support for industrial clients within our Petroleum and Petrochemical Services Business Unit. Responsibilities As a staff engineer/geologist, you will provide field and office support for environmental sampling programs, manage data using a variety of software tools, prepare and review technical reports, and support remediation and construction projects at refineries and other petroleum or industrial sites under regulatory orders.

Your work will involve providing field support for soil and groundwater remediation implementation, soil and water sample collection, technical report preparation, project management assistance, data management and interpretation, and field and construction oversight/management. Mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic are required. GIS and CADD training is a plus. Applicants must have technical writing skills and a demonstrated commitment to safe operations. This position is also responsible for the administration and stewardship of health and safety programs at active sites and communicating with project management and client(s) concerning site activity. This position will require a willingness to travel for fieldwork (up to 50% of work time may include travel).

Position Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field
  • 0-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Competitive academic GPA
  • Problem-solving excellence, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel (familiarity with other Microsoft Office programs is a bonus)
  • Willingness to obtain EIT/GIT in nearer term followed by PE or PG in longer term
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including technical writing, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and project team members
  • Good employment or academic history with a commitment to safe work practices
  • Initiative and motivation with an emphasis on completing high-quality project deliverables on schedule
  • Ability to work reliably in teams as well as independently
  • Ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices
  • A clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential
